SAP dashboard upload fails

Symptoms

On Saas, SAML is configured and the user is able to login in the controller with an account of format name@company, it has all administrative permissions granted. However, dashboard upload fails with HTTP error 401.

Solution

Dashboard upload works for local users the way described here. For external users, the username should look like:
<external user name/email address>@<controller account>

where email address contains ‘@' sign (it means, there are 2 '@’ here) - it should be widely verified, so far only Nestlé uses it.

Warning

There was a recommendation to grant a role "Application & Dashboards Creator" to the user. It is not correct as it is a custom role of unknown origin, not publicly available.
