Q&A - ABAP Agent in various environments

Q: Are the following environments supported?

1. SAP B1 9.2 PL 04:

- Application server (Windows Server 2008 R2, will be updated to 2012 R2 or later). SAP B1 server application is installed on this platform

- MS SQL Server 2012 (DB Server) - a database of all applications used internally, including SAP B1, is hosted on this server.

 2. Web Server:

- ISS 7 application server (Windows Server 2008 R2, will be updated to 2012 R2 or later) - on this platform, there are web applications that are used internally.

 3. BI:

- MS SQL Server 2014 (Services of BD, SSIS, and SSAS) - a Data warehouse that contains databases used for reporting. Services of SSIS and SSAS on a recurring basis perform and obtain information modeling from internal applications or cloud applications.

- Power BI server (Windows Server 2012 R2) - a gateway for transmission of data from the local Data warehouse to a Power BI platform in the cloud.


A: ABAP agent is running only in the supported environments:

  1. SAP B1 (called Business One in previous versions) – "small" SAP IS application based on Microsoft DCOM technology; it is completely different from supported SAP NetWeaver written in the SAP proprietary ABAP language; SAP B1 is not supported by ABAP Agent
  2. Web Server ISS 7 - Microsoft product, not supported by ABAP Agent
  3. Power BI - Microsoft product, not supported by ABAP Agent

 

None of the above environments are supported by ABAP Agent focused on SAP monitoring.
