(DI-2311) Create a Secondary Connection to Oracle Database
CrystalBridge® Monitoring is running on the SAP system and therefore it needs a secondary database connection to the Oracle database for its monitoring.
To enable the connection to the Oracle database, create the connection as follows:
Start the transaction DBCO (or start transaction SM30, enter the Table/View DBCON and click Maintain)
Click New Entries.
Enter DB Connection (e.g. ORACLE) and set DBMS to ORA.
Enter a valid User Name and DB password.
This user is not a SAP user but this user must exist on the Oracle database. It must have predefined “read” authorizations for the monitoring as mentioned on the page Prerequisites for Oracle Connect User.
5. Enter an identifier for DB connection in the field Conn. info (more information for Database identification can be found in the SAP Note 808505).
6. Save the connection
You might check whether the database connection was created directly in transaction DBCO or in table DBCON. When the connection is created and saved as expected, you might test it via the report ADBC_TEST_CONNECTION or directly in transaction DBACOCKPIT.
