(DV-2302) Checking RFC connection
SNP Validate has an utility for checking the RFC connection. The utility can be executed via transaction /DVD/VAL_CHECK_RFC and can be found also under SNP Validate’s user menu:
A screen for entering the RFC destination which should be checked is displayed after entering the transaction.
It is possible to do checks also on different users on the remote system via chosen RFC destination. Option Bypass Buffer does the check with the clearing of previous buffered values.
After execution, a popup window is displayed with all basic information coming from the RFC destination definition on the local system
Button Go to SM59 will execute the transaction for RFC maintenance (only for authorized users)
By pressing the button Check connection, remote system, authorization, etc. following additional checks are executed:
Check the existence of the remote system and get his main system information like system ID, SAP release (version of SAP_BASIS component), Kernel release, main application server, IP address, database system, operating system, and the number of free dialog work processes.
Check remote logon possibilities and get information about the remote user. By default, it is the user-defined in RFC destination or user from the first screen if entered.
Check the speed of the connection with a timeout of 10 seconds.
Check differences in date format, time format, and decimal point notation between the remote user and the local one (your user).
Check differences in the version or release date of Validate or SNP Reuse Library.
Check Validate authorization role/profile assignment to a remote user.
Check and get all failed authorizations of the remote user in the current day.
Any crucial findings are highlighted with a warning or error message on the right side of the pop-up.
