(Glue-2405) Data Dictionary

SNP Glue™ Data Dictionary (DDIC) module stands at the top of the hierarchy of SNP Glue™ metaobjects.

In SNP Glue™ Data Dictionary you can create the SNP Glue™ table or SNP Glue™ queue, view the SNP Glue™ table structure or find other relevant information about the SNP Glue™ table or SNP Glue™ queue.

SNP Glue™ Data Dictionary identifies transparent data and enables manipulation with it. Whether you read, insert, transform, or virtualize data, all these processes always heavily rely on this module.

The basic SNP Glue™ metadata object is SNP Glue™ table, which allows a user to work with a table on external storage in the SAP landscape.

It holds information about external storage data structure and other settings. SNP Glue™ table serves as a link to the table in external storage.

Metaobject

SNP Glue™ table

The module itself allows data modeling and maintenance of SNP Glue™ tables similar to standard SAP SE11 transactions, thus the transaction /DVD/GL11. It enables you to create, edit, display, or delete the main SNP Glue™ metaobject - the SNP Glue™ table. SNP Glue™ tables are pushed to a predefined Storage and can be created in a transparent way, as well.

Metaobject

SNP Glue™ queue

The module also allows maintenance of SNP Glue™ queues. It enables you to create, edit, display, or delete SNP Glue™ queueThe SNP Glue™ queue object stores data in a cluster table (same for all queues) in byte-string form. Later on, this data can be read using one or multiple SNP Glue™ Queue Fetcher.

 Initial screen

On the initial screen you may use:

SNP Glue™ table operations:

  1. Create SNP Glue™ table: Metadata object along with an external table in defined storage.
  2. Create SNP Glue™ table as a link to an existing table in defined storage.
  3. Activate SNP Glue™ table.
  4. Delete SNP Glue™ table.
  5. Display SNP Glue™ table.
  6. Change SNP Glue™ table.
  7. Display a list of SNP Glue™ objects where a particular table is used.

SNP Glue™ queue operations:

  1. Create SNP Glue™ queue.
  2. Activate SNP Glue™ queue.
  3. Delete SNP Glue™ queue.
  4. Display SNP Glue™ queue.
  5. Change SNP Glue™ queue.
  6. Display a list of SNP Glue™ objects where a particular queue is used.
