Upgrade the solution

If you upgrade to a newer version of Datavard Insights, it is recommended to pause all running Collector jobs on the central system before this action.

Otherwise, you might experience some errors or short dumps when the Collector job is executed during this upgrade process. The upgrade procedure consists of the same steps as the Installation procedure, but you will need to import the latest transport requests.

We recommend importing SAP transport requests into production systems when the traffic and load are minimal. It is recommended to import SAP transport requests outside of business hours or during weekends.

If you upgrade into a newer version, there is always executed the Upgrade check report automatically after successful import of the Datavard Insights transport request.

Uninstall the solution.

To uninstall the Datavard Insights, import the deletion transport request into all SAP systems where the Insights is installed (central system and all satellite systems). There are two deletion transport requests and you need to choose one based on your requirements:

  1. Uninstall transport for Datavard Insights

    1. Deletes only objects relevant for Datavard Insights

  2. Uninstall transport for Datavard Insights with Reuse Library

    1. Deletes all objects relevant for Datavard Insights and also for Reuse Library. If you are using other Datavard products, do not use this transport as it might cause inconsistencies with the other products.
