(Glue-2105) Database Utility

Transaction:

/DVD/GL14

Deletes large or corrupted DDIC Glue objects and truncates stored data (cleans table content), both in the dialog and background job. The functionality is similar to the standard ABAP Database Utility (SE14) and can be launched by using the transaction /DVD/GL14.

Database Utility is an expert tool for deleting any DDIC Glue object. In some cases, it may even disable some Glue processes. Please consider this when you are performing operations in the Database Utility.

The user may choose between the database operations, truncate, or delete. After the user clicks Delete, the DDIC Glue object is deleted the same way as in Glue Data Dictionary. The user may delete also the corrupted DDIC Glue objects by selecting Force Delete.
The button Truncate deletes only the content of a DDIC Glue object.

Both database operations may be launched in dialog or as a background job. The background processing should be used mainly for big DDIC Glue objects because dialog jobs can timeout. The user can display the launched background jobs by using the transaction - SM37 Overview of job selection.

Please note that database operations are enabled only for DDIC Glue objects with an Active status.
