(DV-2002) ListCube Field Mapping

Field mapping provides an option to compare before image and after image that would otherwise be incomparable due to changes that could occur between creating those images. Things that could change are:

  • Column name
  • InfoObject of ListCube
  • Datatype of column
  • Length of column
  • Decimals

Field mapping definition

  • Field mapping can be created by clicking on Advanced Settings in the ListCube New Variant screen. Type in the name and then double-click on it.

  • After doing so you will be taken to another screen where you can define mapping for individual fields of the ListCube.

Field Mapping Options

In Field Mapping Definition you define:

Name mapping

  • This mapping renames the output column of a table variant from value A to value B. Use this mapping to match key figure fields with a different name so they may be compared.
  • To define the name mapping, enter a column name of the original table in Old fieldname and the new column name in the New fieldname.

InfoObject mapping

  • This mapping converts values of the column A from an old InfoObject to a new InfoObject. Use this mapping to compare characteristic fields with different InfoObject

Data type/length/decimals mapping

  • This serves for advanced mapping. You can change either datatype, length or decimal places of the field

  • Bear in mind that if you provide for example Old fieldname/Old InfoObject, you will be also prompted to provide New fieldname/New InfoObject which they will map to. We can create new mapping by clicking on icon. A field will be created and you can fill it. After defining one or more mappings don´t forget to save¹ it.

  • You can also use Advanced Mapping options by clicking on . Here you can define additional parameters for mappings such as New datatype/New length/New decimals.
