ISSUE DESCRIPTION

The issue occurs when you create a variant for a query that contains a mandatory hierarchy variable. The variant is successfully saved, but during its execution an error is displayed in the job logs, which informs you that there is problem with the selection of query variants. Validate saves all values of the variant except the values of the hierarchy variable.

ERROR DESCRIPTION

Saving of variant receives query variable values without hierarchy variables.


SOLUTION

The fix transport corrects the mentioned issue. After successful import you should modify or create a new variant and refill values that are missing.

Fall back scenario

If the new functionality for saving query variant values doesn't work properly, it can be switched off by following these expert settings:

  1. Execute the report /DVD/EQS_EXPERT_SETTING 
  2. Clear the parameter 'Query variable new handl save' and execute the report.
