(Glue-2311) Planned Maintenance
Table of Contents:
Before the planned maintenance
To prevent any inconsistencies of replicated data during planned maintenance/downtime of the SAP system follow these steps to gracefully pause replication via SNP Glue:
Please be aware that Extraction scheduler and Glue Watchdogs are obsolete and are replaced by Glue scheduler. We recommend moving the configurations from Extraction Schedulers and Glue Watchdogs to Glue Scheduler. More information about Glue Scheduler can be found in the chapter Glue Scheduler.
Turning off Glue Scheduler:
Start transaction /DVD/GLUE.
Click Glue Scheduler.
Click Stop for each configurated Glue Scheduler.
(Obsolete) Turning off Glue Watchdogs:
Start transaction /DVD/GLUE.
Click Delta watchdog.
Click Stop Watchdog, and go through every watchdog that is populated.
(Obsolete) Turning off the Extraction Scheduler:
Start transaction SM37.
Enter the name of the job (ZDVD_GL_ESCH) into the filter and list all jobs.
Stop any scheduled jobs.
After turning off every Glue Scheduler, make sure there are no replication jobs still running:
To make sure no replication jobs are still running, enter SNP Glue Cockpit using transaction /DVD/GLUE, where you can enter the Request monitor.
Selection filter will open, no need to adjust anything:
If no replication jobs are running, the Request monitor should look like this:
Turning off SNP Java Connector:
Start transaction /DVD/JCO_MNG, turned on Java Connector is marked by a green tick in the column Connection. To stop JCO, click Stop all to turn off all Java Connectors or click Stop to stop Java Connector.
Standalone Java Connector cannot be turned off from SAP GUI, manual action on Virtual machine where the Standalone Java Connector is set up is necessary.
After the planned maintenance
Standalone Java Connector cannot be turned on from SAP GUI, manual action on Virtual machine where the Standalone Java Connector is set up, is necessary.
