(DI-2308) Error message "Shared memory is not available!"

If you see this error message when monitoring default KPIs for Memory and CPU, it means that SAPOSCOL is not running on your SAP system. To check if SAPOSCOL is running or not, you might execute transaction ST06.

If there are no statistics available for CPU and memory, the relevant collector is not able to collect any data about CPU and memory on the monitored SAP system and that’s the reason why the message “Shared memory is not available!” is raised. To resolve this error message and to be able to collect KPIs for CPU and memory, you need to start SAPOSCOL on the monitored SAP system. You might find additional information about the SAPOSCOL setup in SAP Note 548699.

If CPU and memory statistics are available in transaction ST06, you might try to execute the function module ‘FILL_SNAPSHOT_DATA’ manually for a specific application server and check if it returns any data. If the function module is not executed as expected, check the issue with your basis team.
