(DV-2305) ListCube Field Mapping
Field mapping provides the option to compare before image and after image that would otherwise be uncomparable due to changes that could occur between creating those images. Things that could change are:
- InfoObject of ListCube
- Datatype of column
- Length of column
- Decimals
Field mapping definition
- Field mapping can be created by clicking Advanced Settings in ListCube New Variant screen. Type in the name and then double-click on it.
- After doing so you will be taken to another screen where you can define the mapping for individual fields of ListCube.
Field Mapping Options
In Field Mapping Definition you define:
InfoObject mapping
- This mapping converts values from an Old InfoObject to a New InfoObject. Use this mapping to compare characteristic fields with different InfoObjects.
- There is also a column Old fieldname. It serves when we want to map InfoObject to another InfoObject only when they belong to a specified column instead of applying mapping everywhere in ListCube.
Data type/length/decimals mapping
- This serves for advanced mapping. You can change either datatype, length or decimal places of the field
- Bear in mind that if you provide for example Old InfoObject you will be also prompted to provide New InfoObject which they will map to. We can create a new mapping by clicking on icon. The field will be created and you can fill it. After defining one or more mappings don't forget to save it.
- You can also use Advanced Mapping options by clicking on . Here you can define additional parameters for mappings such as New datatype/New length/New decimals.
- After you are done just click on button and it will take you back to New Variant declaration screen.
