(DI-2305) Configuration of HTTP Destination for SAP NetWeaver AS Java

To communicate with Java AS and collect data, the valid HTTP Destination needs to be configured for monitoring. Follow these steps for a valid configuration:

  1. Execute transaction SM59.

  2. Create a new RFC Destination.

General information

  1. Fill in the RFC Destination name.

  2. Fill in the Connection Type field with the value G (HTTP Connection to External Server).

  3. Fill in the Description.

Technical settings

  1. Fill in valid Target Host and Service no. (Port).

Logon & Security

  1. Set the Basic authentication option and fill in the Logon credentials.

User in the Logon credentials must be the user existing on the SAP NetWeaver AS Java system and this user must have assigned at least these two authorization roles:

  • Administrator

  • SAP_XI_MONITOR_J2EE

If the user is missing these roles, the monitoring of PI messages and channels will not work as expected.

Connection test

When all required fields are configured as mentioned in the steps above, you might execute the Connection Test.

After this test execution, you should receive the HTTP response with status 200. Otherwise, the configuration was not successful.

When HTTP Destination for Java NetWeaver AS is configured properly, you might use it for adding a new system for SAP NetWeaver Java.
