(2302) Writer Settings


Under Settings > W3 Settings tab you can display and change Writer's settings.

Package size of Writer processingThe number of rows processed at once by Writer functionality. Processing includes a read of offloaded data and insertion to the active InfoProvider table.
Writer 3 enableSetting that enables or disables Writer functionality.Writer 3 for SNP OutBoard™ Data Tiering with SDA+ is an enhancement of the standard SAP process for loading and activation in SAP BW. Writer enables the loading and activation of data that overlap with offloaded data. Functionality reloads relevant data from the archive back into the InfoProvider active table and then the standard SAP loading or activation process will continue. Data that was reloaded and updated will be archived during the next offloading job.
Writer 3 execution behaviourSetting that can affect the execution behaviour of Writer functionality.

Here you can define default behaviour for all InfoProviders but the setting can be used also specifically for combinations of InfoProvider and archiving interface.

 How to set DP specific setting

This specific setting needs to be manually set into the table /DVD/RL_SETTC with the following values:

TOOL: W3

PARAM: EXEC_BEHAVIOUR

TAG1: [Archiving interface]

TAG2: [InfoProvider name]

The archiving interface could be:

NLS - for OutBoard Data Tiering with NLS

ONI - for OutBoard Data Tiering with SDA+

There are three options that can be used as an input

Input value:

  • X - use Writer and continue with underlying SAP functionality (default option)
  • T - don't use Writer and terminate underlying SAP functionality
  • C - don't use Writer and continue with underlying SAP functionality

Default value: X

Use GLREQUEST

Setting that allows the GLREQUEST field to be used in the selects from the target table. This could improve Writer's performance for some types of storages.
