(SP39) Writer Installation

Prerequisites

  • Transport with NLS Writer
  • The latest version of SNP OutBoard™ Data Tiering installed
  • System with add-ons:
    • SAP_ABA              701 or higher
    • SAP_BASIS           701 or higher
    • SAP_BW               701 with SP 6 or higher

Installation Process

  1. Import the transport with the NLS Writer by using the Transport Management System (transaction STMS). As a result of the installation, the package '/DVD/NLS_W2' will be imported into the system. All the enhancements are inactive after the installation and no NLS Writer settings are filled at this step.
  2. You should therefore start the report /DVD/NLS_W2_XPRA or import transport with XPRA.


In case the version of the Writer isn't compatible with the version of SNP OutBoard™ Data Tiering, a notification appears and the Writer will be disabled. SNP OutBoard™ Data Tiering should have the same version as the NLS Writer.

ADSO archiving is supported only for the BW 750 release or a higher version and only for the transparent storages. To enable ADSO archiving import the transport attached to the installation package. 

This step is only required in the case you have installed ADSO support in your SNP OutBoard™ Data Tiering installation.
