(SM-2205) Azure Partner Registration GUID

Microsoft Azure offers its partners a way to track the amount of data that was uploaded to the Azure cloud. Doing so we gain a higher level of visibility and credit for Microsoft partner programs.

You can find more information at the following link https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/marketplace/azure-partner-customer-usage-attribution.

As a Microsoft partner, our company can associate Azure usage with any Azure resources that we provide on a customer's behalf.

Currently, SNP OutBoard™ is registered with Azure.

Azure Resource Manager (ARM) template

Azure Resource Manager (ARM) is the deployment and management service for Azure. It provides a consistent management layer that enables you to create, update, and delete resources in your Azure subscription. You can use its access control, auditing, and tagging features to secure and organize your resources after deployment.

SNP will use templates for the creation of new storage in Azure (or cooperate with customers on doing so).

Each storage template must contain a new resource section that contains information about GUID:

{

"apiVersion": "2018-02-01",

              "name": "pid-d00c8326-946e-5ccb-85e8-ee036222e958",

              "type": "Microsoft.Resources/deployments",

              "properties": {

                             "mode": "Incremental",

                             "template": {

                                           "$schema": "https://schema.management.azure.com/schemas/2015-01-01/deploymentTemplate.json#",

                                           "contentVersion": "1.0.0.0",

                                           "resources": []

                             }

              }

}

When creating new storage using our specific templates, follow these steps:

  1. Click Create a resource

  2. Select Template deployment (deploy using custom template)

  3. Click Create
  4. Edit Template
  5. Insert template content and press Save
  6. Specify storage parameters and press Purchase

  7. Storage was created
