(2111) Transport of DataProviders and Settings to Other Systems

It is possible to transport the definition of the DataProvider and its settings to another system directly from DataTiering. When you transport a DataProvider and it doesn't exist on a target system, it will be created.
In the case the DataProvider already exists on the system, its Group ID and conditions will be updated. The source and target storages of a transported DataProvider must be defined also on a target system, otherwise, exceptions are triggered and the transport doesn't finish successfully.

To transport DataProviders and its settings

Select at least one DataProvider from the list on the main screen.

Click Transport on the ALV toolbar. In the next dialog create or select a transport request. We don't recommend selecting a request with other objects. The definition of the selected DataProvider along with its specific settings are included in this transport.

Confirm the transport request.

Import transports to another system through the STMS transaction. If you want to import more transports, you must import them one at a time. In case an error occurs during the process, you can view it in the transport log.

To transport only the DataProvider settings

You can transport all the displayed settings or only a selected setting to another system with the following procedure:

  1. Display settings that you want to transport.
  2. a) Click Transport Settings to transport all the displayed settings or
    b) Click on the transport icon next to a specific setting, to transport only this setting.
In the next dialog create or select a transport request. We do not recommend selecting a request with other objects.
  3. Confirm your transport request.
  4. Import transport to another system through the STMS transaction. If an error occurs during the process, you can view it in the transport log.
