(Glue-2108) Q: How to backup relevant table content before a system refresh?
A backup of Datavard tables can be done by running the report: /DVD/RL_UTIL_TABLE_BACKUP. The report provides export and import of the table content. For both scenarios, there is a common parameter File path. This parameter points to the file on the local disk to which table content will be exported and vice versa. For Export scenario, you have to specify table selection by clicking on the button Specify table selection. Tables that don't belong to the DVD namespace will be ignored. Import scenario provides an option to clean the table content before importing by checkbox Cleanup before import.
After clicking on the button Specify table selection, a popup window, as in the picture below, will be displayed. You can add or remove tables and also you have an option to specify a key selection for a table in a corresponding row by clicking the button in the column Specify key selection. When you specify key selection, data will be selected based on specified key. If the key specification is not filled, all data will be selected from the corresponding table. Cleanup before import on the table which data was exported with key selection, will be also cleaned based on the key selection specified in export.
After clicking on Key button popup window with select options for key fields of the corresponding table will be displayed.
EXAMPLE: Popup on the picture below is displayed with key fields of table /DVD/RL_SETTC and TOOL set to GLUE so only data that has TOOL set to GLUE will be exported for table /DVD/RL_SETTC. When the exported file will be imported back with an option Cleanup before import only data with TOOL set to GLUE will be cleaned.
From Glue's point of view, there are 2 groups (Glue-related tables and SM-related tables) of tables that are recommended to backup.
To access the Glue related tables, go to the transaction /DVD/GLUE and in the menu choose Tools ->GL backup (Shift+F9). The selection for Table name will be prefilled by Glue relevant tables.
To access the SM related tables, go to the transaction /DVD/SM_SETUP and in the menu choose Tools ->SM backup (Shift+F1). The selection for Table name will be prefilled by SM relevant tables.
