(DV-2002) Web Intelligence Execution & Backend

Web Intelligence Test Case Execution

When a Web Intelligence test case is added to the test plan, a new test run is automatically created. The Test Run has generated Run ID and the description holds technical name of the Test Plan. All Web Intelligence Variants selected during the creation of the Web Intelligence Test Case are automatically added into the Variant selection. By clicking on  'Execute' button, a screen for the standard Web Intelligence Testing scenario is displayed.

Please note that you have to select at least one variant to execute.

Download Before image

All selected variants are executed by clicking on the 'Before/Source Image' button in the toolbar or on the execute button  on the right side of the folder. It is possible to execute a single variant by using the execute button located on the right side of each variant.

Download After image

By clicking on the 'After/Target Image' button in the toolbar or the execute button  on the right side of the folder, all selected variants are then executed. It is possible to execute a single variant by using the execute button on the right side of each variant.
Before the first run of every Run ID, a popup with the information for the Log in to the portal page is displayed. The Log in can also be done manually by clicking on Goto -> Open IE Portal in the Menu bar. This action is necessary because when there is no IE window with the portal web page open before execution, it will cause difficulties.

Additional Information

Section support

WEBI allows you to create sections in your reports. When a table is added into a section object, it is divided into several tables with the same structure based on specified conditions. The output of these tables in a section is displayed on the following figure:

WEBI Report table in section

Web Intelligence table in report section

Validate supports testing of tables included in sections. These table parts are displayed on the execution screen as one table, because the number of actual table parts is unknown until the execution time.

Data for all table parts is also gathered and displayed together in the Display Results step.

Depending on the table format defined in a WEBI report, the header of a table can be present in the above displayed results several times.
