The prerequisite for adding a system for HANA Database monitoring is to have a valid Secondary HANA Connection created. You might find more details in the chapter (DI-2108) Create a Secondary HANA Connection.
To add a new system for HANA Database monitoring, please follow these steps:
Select the main system type HANA Database.
Following screen appears for HANA system information.
Enter System name (e.g. HANA_DB) and Description.
Enter a valid DB Connection (you might find more details on page (DI-2108) Create a Secondary HANA Connection)
Press Check DB connection to make sure that DB connection works correctly.
If any error occurred, press Go to DBCON setup and maintain this connection according to the steps described in the chapter (DI-2108) Create a Secondary HANA Connection.
If you would like to monitor the HANA Database from a remote SAP system, you might enter RFC Destination (configured ABAP connection to a remote SAP system). If HANA Database monitored from a central system, keeps the RFC Destination empty.
6. Confirm setup to add the system
7. The following screen appears with the auto-detected DB server(s) . Make sure that the Monitor flag is selected and press Confirm.
8. System for HANA Database monitoring was added. You can start the monitoring by clicking the button Start default monitoring in the menu bar. It starts the Collector jobs for HANA Database monitoring.
