To avoid a data loss, both the SAP system running the Outboard Service as well as the External Storage shall be regularly backed up. The individual backups shall be in sync to make sure links stored by outboard in the SAP system DB correspond to the data stored in the External Storage. Backup concept of the external storage is platform-specific.
