(DI-2302) How to exclude default KPI(s) from default monitoring

Before exclusion of the KPI from default monitoring, you need to find a name of monitoring profile under which is this KPI monitored. You might find the assigned monitoring profile for a specific KPI in the following way:

  1. Go to the Monitoring settings

  2. Select the relevant KPI under the node KPI definitions

  3. When KPI selected, double-click the sub-node Assigned profiles

  4. Find default monitoring profile from which you want to exclude specific KPI (default profiles do not start with Z* or Y*)

If you want to exclude any default KPI(s) from any default Monitoring profile, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Monitoring settings (transaction /DVD/MON_CUST)

  2. Double-click the node Profile definition

  3. Select the default monitoring profile under which is the KPI collected (e.g. DEF_5MIN)

  4. Use the button ‘Copy as’ to copy the whole content of default profile to any custom profile.

  5. The following screen is display. Set a name for custom profile starting with Z* (e.g. ZDEF_5MIN).

  6. Press ENTER to confirm the setup.

  7. The following pop-up will be displayed with the information how many dependent entries has been copied into custom profile.

  8. Confirm and Save.

    1. If changes are not saved after copy function, the dependent copied records in relevant sub-nodes are not displayed as expected.

  9. Select the created custom profile (e.g. ZDEF_5MIN).

  10. Double-click the sub-node Assigned KPIs.

  11. Find and select the KPI(s) which should be excluded from monitoring.

  12. Delete the selected KPI(s) from custom profile.

  13. Save the changes after deletion.

At this point, all KPIs from default profile have been copied into custom profile and some of the KPIs have been excluded from this custom profile. The last step is to schedule a new collector job for this custom profile (e.g. ZDEF_5MIN). More details about scheduling the collector job might be find on the page Schedule the Monitoring of KPIs.
