This step allows you to categorize systems into groups, based on a common attribute, for example production, development systems or based on geographical attribute. One system can be placed in multiple groups.
When you assign a system to one group or remove it, it will be reflected in other groups to which the system is assigned as well.

To categorize systems into groups, like the ones on the figure use the System groups customizing functionality.

  1. Go to Settings > System Settings and double click on System groups.

  2. To assign or add a new system group click New Entries.

Please note that you can create or modify only field names (in this case the name of the system group) that start with Z*, Y* or X*. The standard customizing (field entries except the ones starting with Z*, Y*, X*) can not be changed or added.

  3. By the main group (in this example ALL) don't fill Parent group, however by the subgroups fill this field to assign them to the main group. Save your changes.
  4. Select the system group to which you would like to assign system IDs (systems) and double click System group list.                                                                                                                                                                                             System groups
  5. Click New Entries and fill the required fields.
  6. Insert a number in Position to display the systems in a specific order. After you complete the setup, save your changes.
