(1908) Set up and Install

Prerequisites

• OutBoard DataTiering installation package
• Valid license from your Datavard consultant
• SAP NetWeaver 7.4 SP 11 and later
  

Installation process of OutBoard DataTiering with SDA+

To install DataTiering with SDA+ interface you should import transports in a specific order to your system. The best practice is to follow the order of transports which is mentioned in the installation package (readme file).
Usually, the readme file contains the following four main transports which are in this order:

1. Datavard Reuse Library
2. Datavard Glue
   
3. OutBoard DataTiering with SDA+
   
4. OutBoard DataTiering with SDA+ Writer
   

Install a license

1. Access OutBoard DataTiering by entering the transaction /n/DVD/OFF in your BI system.
2. Select License in the top menu and click on License.
3. License screen opens, you have two options:
   1. Ask for a license - select in the case you haven't received your license or it has expired. In the next dialog fill in the necessary fields as your Email address, Customer name and Description. By clicking Send the program automatically generates a request e-mail with all the necessary information, which is sent to our Datavard support.
   2. Copy to clipboard - copies all the necessary license information, which you may sent then to support@datavard.com.
      
4. Enter your License key received from our consultants and the calendar date until which the license is valid into Valid to.
5. Confirm or press Shift+F6 to complete the installation.

Storage Setup (optional)

You may set up the following storages as is described in:

• Sybase IQ Transparent Storage for setting up a connection to Sybase IQ
  

OutBoard DataTiering with NLS (optional)

If you want to use the NLS interface, it may be installed as an add-on to your SAP system. Please check the installation guide of DataTiering with NLS.
