(DV-1808) BEx Analyzer

BEx Analyzer testing tests excel-based reporting analyses (i.e. last level of reporting) created using BEx Analyzer reporting tool embedded with Microsoft Excel. Data in each workbook are refreshed and downloaded into system for comparison.

Prerequisites for BEx Analyzer testing

In Microsoft Excel application add excel add-in BExAnalyzer.xla to Excel Add-ins. It can be usually found in the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\SAP Shared\BW. For successful testing it is necessary to have this add-in.

BI 7.x tools (BEx) require 32-bit version of MS Office (see SAP note 1995532).

For BI AddOn 7.X (based 7.40) Support Package 9 use patch 10 or higher (BI740SP09P_910-20012040.EXE available on market place) because of error in lower versions.

For BI AddOn 7.X (based 7.50), Support Package 3 patch 2 (BI750SP03P_302-80001931.EXE available on market place) or higher is required because of missing functionality of connection to BW server from VBA. Connection can be established only with application server, message server is not supported.
