New Features

  • [BT] Field mapping in table variants - you can rename fields and change data elements of a table variant characteristic/key figure using the mapping. With the mapping functionality you can bypass the following restrictions of a compare functionality of the table variants:
    • Characteristic fields
      • Underlying data element must be same. This restriction can be bypassed by creating the mapping rule of the data element
    • Key figure fields
      • Name of the key figure fields must be the same while the position isn't important.This restriction can be bypassed by creating the renaming rule of the data element.

  • [BT] Tags for table variants is a new approach to extend the standard Validate functionality using tags. Each tag defines a custom functionality (BADI implementation) that you assign to variant and that is executed at a specified time. An example of the tag functionality is the creation of a dynamic filter at the run-time of a variant.

Improvements

  • [BT] Generation of ListCube and table variants in background navigates you to Jobs overview (SM37), which prevents an accidental overwrite of test variants selection assigned to a test case.
  • [BT] Runtimes in Display Results screen available also in [hh:mm:ss] format.
  • [BT] Added logs (username and time information) for every test variant, if it's definition changed. 
     
  • [FT] ERP Report - Custom BADI comparator. BADI comparator that can be supplied on request for your projects. The comparator enables you to remap all user defined texts from the saved ERP reports before comparison.

  • [FT] Web Intelligence - support of section objects in Web Intelligence documents.
  • [FT] Web Intelligence: Table descriptions are displayed in WEBI execution screen instead of the technical ID.
  • [FT] Web Intelligence - an option to switch between errors/warnings, if a table is not found in an output. We added the new parameter 'Log error if table not found' (WI_LOG_AS_ERROR) to front end settings.
  • [FT] BEx Analyzer testing - a new option to save filter values of variables, which are automatically filled in workbooks during a test execution.
  • [FT] BEx Analyzer testing - We changed the logon approach, so it is possible to refresh data in workbooks when using SAP GUI 750 and BEx Analyzer based on 7.50. We added to the Front End settings the new parameter 'Wait time in logon dialog load' (BEX_LOGON_WAIT).
    Time in seconds after every change of a window, which is used by Validate to detect correct logon dialogs and fill the required fields. Two processes of MS Excel are handling this logon to system and the data refresh in workbook, therefore at least 2 free sessions are required in SAP GUI for a successful testing.
  • [FT] [NO_PUBLIC_ACCESS] BEx Analyzer testing - We added an option to switch to a faster way of downloading data from excel using the clipboard. This option may be set through the expert settings (/DVD/KATE_SETUP_EXP) and this functionality is still in the test phase. The data download is with this functionality 10times faster and allows you to read really huge workbooks. However, the functionality is slightly unstable due to possible overfill of Office clipboard and failure of the copy functionality.
