(DI-2311) KPI Tree and Context Menu

This chapter describes the organization of KPIs in the KPI tree on the main screen. Further, it provides you with a short description of the KPI context menu.

For information on how to display a KPI, see the chapter (DI-2311) Display KPIs.

KPI tree

In the KPI tree, the list of KPIs is divided into logical groups and each group can contain other subgroups. The main group in the KPI tree is called All KPI. This group contains all groups and all KPIs are organized into individual subgroups, as well as those KPIs that are not assigned to any group.

You can add a specific KPI to one or more groups by clicking the edit button next to the search toolbar. This button navigates you into the KPI group maintenance. More details about KPI group maintenance can be found in the chapter KPI Groups.

KPI groups in a KPI tree have either an active or inactive status. A KPI group is inactive, only when all KPI values for the selected systems and servers, were not collected in the selected time interval.

KPI context menu

The KPI context menu provides a default set of functions that may be executed for each KPI. To open the KPI context menu, select a specific KPI from the context menu in KPI groups

KPI Info

KPI Info displays a pop-up window with basic information about selected KPI (e.g. KPI name, description, unit).

Find correlated KPI(s)

This item executes the functionality to find correlated KPIs for selected KPIs and displays the results in the KPI Mix chart. More information can be found in the chapter Display Several KPIs in KPI Mix Chart.

Set threshold or Change threshold

Set threshold item appears when no alert is set for a KPI. You can select this option if you want to create a new alert definition. More information can be found in the chapter Set up an Alert with a Threshold.

Change Threshold item appears in the case of an alert have been already set for a KPI. If this item is selected, you may change the existing threshold values of an existing alert or create new thresholds. More information can be found in the chapter Set up an Alert with a Threshold.

If the user does not have sufficient authorizations to change the customizing, these items are not displayed in the KPI context menu.

Anomaly settings

Under Anomaly settings you may create or change an alert for anomaly detection or you may simulate the behavior of a collector for anomaly detection.

More information can be found in the chapter Set up an Anomaly Alert.

If the user does not have sufficient authorizations to change the customizing, this item is not displayed in the KPI context menu.

Detail tables

The item for Detail tables is available only when a detail table exists and is assigned for the selected KPI. When not, this functionality is not visible. More information can be found in the chapter KPI Details Displayed in a Detail Table.

Add to favorites

This item adds a selected KPI into a special KPI group "Favorite KPIs" and is displayed only when KPI is not added to Favorites KPIs yet. With this option, you have the possibility to create a list of your favorite KPIs which are grouped together. This functionality is user dependent which means that each user can create its own list which is not visible to other users.

Remove from favorites

If the selected KPI is already added to the "Favorites KPIs" group, the item to Remove from favorites is displayed instead of Add to favorites. With this option, you have a possibility to subsequently remove KPI from the list of favorites KPIs.

Suggest KPI

Suggest KPI opens an email communication where you can send a new KPI definition suggestion to the support team or any other recipient.
