(2302) Authorizations in SNP OutBoard™ Data Tiering

This topic covers the authorizations in SNP OutBoard™ Data Tiering that permit or forbid specific activities. The users are granted permission by the authorization object /DVD/OFF.

The following authorization roles can be assigned to the user:

1. /DVD/OFF_MAINTAIN
2. /DVD/OFF_DISPLAY

Authorization to Maintain

Users with the SAP role /DVD/OFF_MAINTAIN can access the complete SNP OutBoard™ Data Tiering functionality. They have permission to:

• Add, edit and delete a DataProvider
• Schedule a DataProvider or a DataProvider group
• Edit or delete scheduled jobs
• Execute the Impact analysis
• Switch the object status and execute adjustments
• Transport a DataProvider and its settings to another system
• Edit SNP OutBoard™ Data Tiering settings
• Start group archiving with process chains
• Access archived data

Authorization to Display

Users with the SAP role /DVD/OFF_DISPLAY have restricted access to SNP OutBoard™ Data Tiering. They have permission to:

• Access the Request Browser
• Display all jobs in the Job Monitor
• Display the source provider
• View logs
• View SNP OutBoard™ Data Tiering settings
  
• Access archived data

Storage management authorizations

The role /DVD/SM_ADMIN is necessary to maintain storages. Users with this role have permission to:

• Create new storage
• Display existing storage
• Edit existing storage
• Delete existing storage

Additional authorizations can be needed to set up specific storage.
