(DI-2211) System tree

The System tree displays the list of all created systems and their servers in CrystalBridge® Monitoring. It is divided into two parts:

  1. System landscape

    1. Each node represents a system with its name or system ID (based on set User Display Settings) and under this system node is displayed a list of its assigned servers.

    2. The systems can be also categorized into System groups (something like folders). One system can be also assigned to multiple System groups. You find more details on the page Assign a System to a System group.

  2. Alert

    1. this column displays the number of occurred alerts.

    2. Next to the System node, there are two numbers available. The first number defines how many open alerts exist for this system. The second number defines, how many alerts have been already closed.

    3. Next to the Server node, there is only one number available. This number defines how many open alerts exist for this specific server.

System tree overview

Each node (for a system or server) can be selected or unselected. If no data is collected or data does not exist in the selected time period for this system, the node is marked as a grey-colored node and behaves as inactive (you can not select it). If you select any system, you might find some additional details about this system in the tab System info (it is also possible for inactive nodes).

System info

Each node in the System landscape contains a status icon. This icon informs the user about the current monitoring status. There might be displayed the following status icons:

Context menu for System

In the System landscape, you might use a context menu for a system that might help you with displaying the data or maintaining the system. You can display this context menu by right-clicking on the system node.

System context menu

This context menu provides the following functions:

  • Select all - this option selects the current node and all its sub-nodes (if used over the system group, all nodes defined in this group are selected).

  • Deselect all - this option unselects the current node and all its sub-nodes (if used over the system group, all nodes defined in this group are unselected).

  • Select all below for

    • currently open Alerts - this option selects only the nodes which reported any open alerts (at the current time). This selection is applied only to the current node and all its sub-nodes.

    • occurred Alerts in displayed time range - this option selects only the nodes which reported any alerts (open or already closed alerts) in the displayed time period. This selection is applied only to the current node and all its sub-nodes.

  • Stop monitoring - this option is only visible when the system is currently monitored and provides two options:

    • Stop monitoring - stops all collector jobs for the selected system

    • Stop monitoring with memory - stops all currently running collector jobs and remembers these stopped collector jobs for specific systems into memory (only these stopped collector jobs can be later started again when using this option).

  • Start monitoring - this option is visible only when the system is not yet monitored:

    • Start monitoring (all profiles) - all collector jobs defined for the system will be started (including custom-created Z*/Y* profiles)

    • Start monitoring (default profiles) - only collector jobs for default monitoring profiles will be started (without any custom-created Z*/Y* profiles).

    • Start monitoring from memory - only visible when a snapshot for stopped collector jobs in memory is found for the selected system (starts only collector jobs that were previously stopped by using the option “Stop monitoring with memory”.

  • Delete system - this option might be used when you want to delete the whole system. You might find more details on the page (DI-2211) Delete system from the monitoring.

Context menu for Server

You might also use a context menu for a server node by selecting the server node from the context menu.

Server context menu

This context menu provides the following functions:

  • Exclude from monitoring - this option is displayed when the selected server is not excluded from monitoring. You might use this option if you want to exclude the specific server from monitoring.

  • Include from monitoring - this option is displayed only when the selected server has already been excluded from monitoring. You might use this option if you want to start monitoring again of this excluded server.

  • Delete server - this option is displayed only when the server is not reachable and excluded from monitoring. If these two conditions are not met, this option is not displayed in the context menu. The reason is that it is possible to delete only not reachable servers (e.g., any obsolete server) which can not be monitored anymore.
