(DV-2208) Value Mapping

Value mapping functionality gives you the ability to compare 2 different values as identical during table comparison. It is applied during comparison, therefore it is possible to update it without the need to recreate the before or after image.

Creating/Selecting value mapping

To create or select value mapping for the table variant, you first need to open 'Advanced Settings'.

Next specify the value mapping ID in the corresponding screen field. You can create or edit it by double-clicking the input screen field.

There is F4 search help implemented.

Value mapping definition

There are 3 basic fields defining value mapping:

  1. Field name - specifies to which column value mapping should be applied

  2. Old value - old value of the specified column to be replaced

  3. New value - value to which the old value should be mapped

Old and New values allow for up to 128 character long input, however current table comparison implementation only allows table values up to length 74. In case you define longer new or old values than 74, it will be ignored.

Incorrectly defined value mapping should not negatively affect table comparison, it should be ignored during comparison stage.

After opening 'Advanced settings' you can specify the table to which the value mapping applies.
