(DI-2205) Configuration of HTTP Destination for SAP Web Dispatcher

To be able to communicate with SAP Web Dispatcher and collect data, the valid HTTP Destination needs to be configured for monitoring. Please follow these steps for the valid configuration:

  1. Execute transaction SM59

  2. Create a new RFC Destination

General information

  1. Fill RFC Destination name.

  2. Fill Connection Type with value 'G' (HTTP Connection to External Server)

  3. Fill Description

Technical settings

  1. Fill valid Target Host and Service no. (Port).

    Host and Port value can be retrieved from the URL configured for Web Dispatcher Administration Interface access.

     

  2. Fill the Path Prefix. This is the configured path for Web Dispatcher Administration Interface access.

    This path can be retrieved also from the URL configured for Web Dispatcher Administration Interface access or from the configuration file 'sapwebdisp.pfl' available in the installation directory for SAP Web Dispatcher.

Logon & Security

  • HTTP Connection
    For HTTP communication, there is sufficient to set Basic authentication option and fill the Logon credentials for Web Dispatcher Administration user.

  • HTTPS Connection
    For HTTPS communication, the following details need to be set:
    1. Basic authentication option with valid Logon credentials for Web Dispatcher Administration user.

    2. SSL activated and valid SSL Client Certificate assigned. SSL Client Identity needs to be created as described in the chapter Configuration of SSL Client Identity for HTTPS connection.

Connection test

When all required fields are configured as mentioned in the steps above, you might execute the Connection Test.

After this test execution, you should receive the HTTP response with status 200. Otherwise, the configuration was not successful.

When HTTP Destination for SAP Web Dispatcher is configured properly, you might use it for adding a new system for SAP Web Dispatcher.
