Prerequisites and installation
The Validate tool is supplied to the customers in the form of a transport requests with all available functionalities included. Datavard’s Reuse Library is also provided together with Validate and is necessary for the customers that did not receive it yet with other Datavard tools.
All users working with Validate should have authorization “DVD_KATE” assigned, that is included in Validate installation transports.
Validate data images contain information from all tested InfoProviders, Queries and Tables. Customer should be aware that data in Validate are by default unprotected in terms of authorization access. See Settings section for more information how the data can be protected from unauthorized access.

Validate contains tables that are client dependent. Therefore it is required that the Validate transport is imported into the system using the same client where the users will be working with the tool.
Step by step installation
1. Validate installation package is set of the following transports:
- Reuse Library (part of distribution package)
- Datavard Validate Core
- Datavard Validate Backend [BW]
- Datavard Validate Frontend [FT]
Required transports must be copied into Transport Directory of a target SAP system.
2. Access Transport Management System by the entering the transaction STMS.

3. Select the target system.

4. Add the particular transports via menu Extras -> Other Request -> Add.

5. Select transports one by one in the required order and import then by clicking the icon .
6. Access Datavard Validate Cockpit by entering the transaction /DVD/VALIDATE in the target system.
7. Go to the title bar, click on Datavard button and in the popup menu select Datavard Validate – License.

9. Click the button "Copy to clipboard" to obtain the data required for license generation and send them to DataVard consultant by mail.
10. Insert the valid license key and "Valid to" date to the screen from the previous point.
Initial Validate Setup
Validate supports several Test Case types, not all of which may be relevant for you. Therefore, the customization transaction /DVD/VALIDATE_SETUP provides options to only display the Test Cases that are relevant.
