(Glue-2111) (Deprecated) Mass Execution of Extraction Variants

You can generate multiple Extractor Variants and subsequently execute them sequentially or in parallel by using the Mass Execution button, which is available in the Extractor Workbench toolbar.

Mass Execution feature is supported by the following extractors:

To generate and execute variants for the extraction, proceed as follows:

  1. Click on the "Mass Execution button".
  2. When the popup comes up, specify the following parameters:
    1. Field for time slices - date field by which the selection will be created (use F4 help to find the appropriate field). Please note that for BEx Query Extraction this parameter is called "Char. for time slices".
    2. Fiscal year variant - used for fiscal period definition. You can use F4 help to select one of the Fiscal year variants available in the system.
    3. Time shift for Start - set the start period by a number of (Days, Weeks, Months, Years, Posting Periods or Fiscal Years) from the current date. The scaling unit can be selected from the drop-down menu.
    4. Step - step by which the created interval will be divided. The parameter is responsible for the number of created variants.
    5. Time shift for End - set the end period by a number of (Days, Weeks, Months, or Years) from the current date. The scaling unit can be selected from the drop-down menu.
    6. Package sizenumber of records, which are transported to external storage in a single package. If a higher number of records is about to be transported, they are divided into multiple packages.
    7. Variant Selection - in the Variant Selection section, you can filter data that should be transferred by filling out the displayed fields.

  3. After clicking on the "Continue" button (Enter) popup screen will offer to select between two extraction types:
    • Sequential - the extractor variants will be generated, executed one by one. This means that the next variant will be executed only after the previous one is finished and will be deleted at the end of processing.
    • Parallel - after clicking on this button, the extractor variants will be generated and then you will be forwarded to Task Handler (Transaction /DVD/TH_EDIT) where you can execute them in parallel. Follow the steps described in the chapter (Glue-2111) (Deprecated) Execute the Data Extraction in parallel by using Task Handler tool. At the end of the extraction, all generated variants will also be deleted.
