(Glue-2111) (Deprecated) Advanced DSO to Storage Extractor

Advanced DSO to Storage extractor allows you to transfer data from advanced DSOs to external storage.


To create Advanced DSO to Storage extractor

  1. Go to Extractor Workbench.
  2. In the context menu of Advanced DSO to Storage select Create Extractor.
  3. Specify the following parameters:
    • Extractor name – technical name of the extractor.
    • Description – description of the extractor.
    • Extractor type – this value is predefined, for this type of extractor select the Advanced DSO to Storage extractor.

    • Source InfoProvider – source InfoProvider from which data is transferred. In this case an advanced DSO object.

      Only advanced DSOs modeled like standard DSOs are supported by this extractor type in the current release. It's not possible to create this type of extractor using advanced DSOs modeled like an InfoCube or other types of advanced DSOs.

      InfoObjects of the type INT8 are currently not supported and therefore cannot be imported from InfoProvider through the Datavard Glue Dictionary.

    • Target table - name of the created target (Glue) table. For information on how to create a Glue table, see the chapter (Glue-2111) Create a Glue Table.

      If the fields of a target table created for this extractor were imported from an existing InfoProvider, they must include the row RECORDMODE of the data element CHAR1.

      If the row isn't included, you must append it. You can find instructions on how to append rows in the section Insert fields manually. This row is necessary for the Change log delta.  



  4. Specify a Package.

  5. For Advanced DSO to Storage extractor only the Change log delta is currently supported and you cannot alter it to a different delta type. Define Delta parameters with these steps:
    1. Click on Tools .
    2. Select the checkbox for the Record mode values that should be loaded from the Change log table of the specified advanced DSO.
    3. Confirm. For more information about Change log delta, see the chapter BW Delta Mechanisms.

  6. The structure of the Glue table may be the same or it may differ from the source advanced DSO:
    1. If the structure of a Glue table is the same as the structure of a source advanced DSO, the field mapping is generated by Glue automatically. (For example, if the Glue table was created from the fields of a source InfoProvider).

    2. If the structure of the Glue table is different from the structure of the source advanced DSO, you might need to specify Field Mapping manually.
      In this case fill in the fields which are missing or aren't set correctly in the column Source Table Field.
  7. You may change the transfer rule or edit the routine. For more information, see the chapter (Glue-2111) (Deprecated) Transfer Rules.
  8. You may select fields used for filtering (selection) of data by the Variant definition. More information can be found in the section Variant Selection.

  9. Before you use an extractor, save it and activate it. In the case you activate an unsaved extractor, it will be saved automatically before activation.
  10. The next step is to create a Variant.
