(SP33) OutBoard Cockpit

To access OutBoard Cockpit, run the transaction /DVD/OUTBOARD in your SAP BW system. You will step into the OutBoard Cockpit main screen. 

User buttons in OutBoard Cockpit enabling the basic functions of Outboard (detailed below)

The OutBoard Cockpit, allows you to step into the individual sections of OutBoard. User access buttons are located in the top left and at the bottom of the screen. The numbers displayed on the welcome screen show statistics of your system. More specifically, these are:

DSOs

Displays the number of DSOs in your systems that are attached to OutBoard (i.e. a DAP with connection to OutBoard exists). The full list can be found in the OutBoard Browser

InfoCubes

Number of InfoCubes that are attached to OutBoard. The full list can be found in the OutBoard Browser

PSAs

Number of PSAs that are attached to OutBoard. The full list can be found in the OutBoard Browser

Change Logs

Number of Change Logs that are attached to OutBoard. The full list can be found in the OutBoard Browser

Archived size

Total volume of data stored in OutBoard i.e. how much space is OutBoard occupying in the system. The unit can be set by the parameter SIZE_UNIT.

Unpacked size

Shows how much space would the data stored in OutBoard require, if it was uncompressed. The unit can be set by the parameter SIZE_UNIT in OutBoard Settings.

Space saved

Shows how much space is saved as a percentage.

Storage cost Saving per Month

Shows the total money saved. The difference between uncompressed size and compressed size is the total space saved. This amount is multiplied by the parameter SIZE_TO_MONEY_COEFF.

Datavard menu
In the OutBoard Cockpit, there is a Datavard menu, by clicking on this button it is possible to navigate to other Datavard solutions that are installed on the system. If these tools are not installed, it is then possible to read about other Datavard tools and learn how they help resolve other problems related to improving SAP system performance.
