The solution is running directly on the SAP ABAP Netweaver stack. Connections to other databases (e.g. Hadoop) are managed through Datavard Storage Management, which is implemented in ABAP (95%) and Java (5%). Storage Management uses ABAP and SAP authorizations for governance and access control, and a small component called Java Connector to bridge between SAP’s RFC protocol and other technologies, depending on the target storage. Such technologies include JDBC / ODBC, REST APIs, and files.
