The purpose of this document is to explain to the end-user the process of upgrading from DataVardDatavard's OutBoard for Analytics (component 100) to DataVardDatavard's OutBoard DataTiering (component 200).
This document is aimed primarily at for SAP system administrators and BW consultants who should primary work with OutBoard.

Installation

Prerequisites

System has DataVardDatavard's OutBoard for Analytics (component 100)

• With support Installed Support package 8 or newer installedYou have obtained the a higher version 

• OutBoard upgrade package

• You have obtained a A valid license from your Datavard consultant for OutBoard with Storage Management

• Your system has SAP Add-On Installation Tool (transaction SAINT) version 33 or higher

• System has with Add-Ons

• • SAP_ABA 700 701 or a higher version
  • SAP_BASIS 700 701 or a higher version
  • SAP_BW 700 701 with SP 6 or a higher version

Step-by-step Upgrade Process

1. The OutBoard upgrade package is an Add-On, on which must should be imported using the Add-On Installation Tool (transaction SAINT). Upload and import all the file *.pat files using the wizard (detailed guide can be found in under the SAINT online documentation). OutBoard support packages must should be updated using the SPAM Update (transaction SPAM) up to level 018 (detailed guide can be found in under SPAM online documentation). As After a result of the successful OutBoard DataTiering installation , a the software component DVD with release 200 and Level 018 will be available in the system as shown on the screen.

2. Import the transport NSQK903789 (. Transport files are included in the downloaded zip file) that consist necessary table of . This transport contains table content for the OutBoard Lookup translator.
   (optional) In case of ADSO support is needed on system (for SAP BW 7.40 and above) it has to be imported transport HD1K900376 that is included in OutBoard installation packageTranslator.
   
   
3. Import the transport HD1K900376. Please note: This step is only required in case you want to archive ADSO and your SAP system has a SAP_BW component version 7.40 SP16 and above. More info about the support of ADSO can be found in OutBoard user documentationunder the OutBoard User Documentation.
   
   
4. Now execute the report /DVD/NL2_XPRA_NLS_KEY with unchecked "Test mode"
this is necessary for storage management
5. . This report will
prefill "Nearline storage key" into a transparent table for all already archived requests to enhance performance for Outboard.

6. Execute update metadata of the current archive so they can be accessible on the new version of OutBoard.

7. Execute the report /DVD/NL2_XPRA_STORAGE with the default setting and without "Test mode". This program is used to automatically assign all NLS objects defined in OutBoard for Analytics to their default cluster profile and requests to storage DEFAULTCLU.from the previous version of OutBoard to a default aging profile (primary database).    
   
   
8. Install the new license.
