The purpose of this document is to explain to the end-user the process of upgrading from Datavard's OutBoard for Analytics (component 100) to Datavard's OutBoard DataTiering (component 200).
This document is aimed for SAP system administrators and BW consultants who should primary work with OutBoard.

- The OutBoard upgrade package is an Add-on which should be imported using the Add-On Installation Tool (transaction SAINT). Upload and import all the *.pat files using the wizard (detailed guide can be found under the SAINT online documentation). OutBoard support packages should be updated using the SPAM Update (transaction SPAM) up to level 021 (detailed guide can be found under SPAM online documentation). After a successful OutBoard DataTiering installation the software component DVD with release 200 and Level 021 will be available in the system as shown on the screen.
Result of successful OutBoard Add-On installation
- Import the transport HD1K903260. Please note: This step is only required in case you want to archive an ADSO and your are using a SAP HANA system with the SAP Nearline interface 1.11 (please check for more information the SAP Note 2320378). More information about the support of an ADSO can be found under the OutBoard user documentation.
- Now execute the report /DVD/NL2_XPRA_NLS_KEY with unchecked "Test mode". This report will update metadata of the current archive so they can be accessible on the new version of OutBoard.
- Execute the report /DVD/NL2_XPRA_STORAGE with the default setting and without "Test mode". This program is used to assign all NLS objects from the previous version of OutBoard to a default aging profile (primary database).
- Install the new license.

Congratulations! Now you can use Datavard's OutBoard DataTiering for data archiving.
After this upgrade the next step is to determine which profile and storage you should use for storage management.
It is recommended to execute the report /DVD/NLS_CONSISTENCY_CHECK which verifies archive consistency after the OutBoard upgrade.
In case of any inconsistent objects open an OSS message for the Datavard component (XX-PART-DVD).
