After ABAP agent configuration, the below error message appeared in /DVD/APPD_STATUS logs:

API key was not entered in the t-code /DVD/APPD_CUST.
Solution
A mandatory step is to generate an API key according to the documentation, insert it into /DVD/APPD_CUST, and save changes.
